Ian Brownell has been a producer and editor for projects ranging from educational documentaries and training videos to low-budget thrillers and independent features. He is founder and director of the production company Bushy Theater, Inc., and Co-Director of BTI's first feature-length film, "A Time To Dance, The Life and Work of Norma Canner." Though currently focused on developing his own productions, Ian continues to work as an editor, camera operator, unit production manager, and post-production supervisor for other independent producers on the east coast. In addition to directing a large percentage of ABNERIA's material, he is the Co-Executive Producer, Co-Technical Director, and Editor.
Mark Hessler is a shy and retiring graduate of MIT who is slowly learning how the other ninety-nine percent live. He has worked as a thespian, a high school English teacher, and a technology drone. Trained as an actor at National Shakespeare Conservatory, New Theatre, and Cambridge Adult Ed., he has also acted at Priscilla Beach Theatre, The Vineyard Playhouse, and Young Tongues Theatre around Boston. In ABNERIA he takes pride in the group's responsibility for the whole process from writing to production. Through it he hopes to provide many touching, wacky and memorable moments for all the random folks who stay up late watching cable access .
Steve Kleinedler moved to Boston in 1997 from Chicago, where he was a founding member of Shattered Globe Theatre, a prominent, ensemble-driven, professional non-Equity theatre. He appeared in numerous Shattered Globe productions, along with performing administrative and technical duties. He has also appeared in productions with the Playwrights' Center, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Company, and the Children's Theatre of Second City. He has been active in improv since the early 1980s and organized the improv troupe, Spontaneous Art, at Michigan State University from 1985-6. Steve holds a BA in linguistics and is now an editor at a major publishing company in Boston.
Ross Moyer has been with ABNERIA through several name changes. He has been acting in the Boston area for a number of years, and that is why he now concentrates his vast reservoir of talent for the dramatic arts on this group. He is also a professional composer, whose works have been performed throughout the United States and Canada and recorded on the MMC label. In addition to writing and directing a large percentage of the group's material, he is Co-Executive Producer of the show and contributes any little musical ditties that are required for scenes. He also makes a mean cherry cobbler.
Lucinda Perry lives a double life. During the day she fights against the injustice of "Big Tobacco" at the Massachusetts Tobacco Control Program. At night, her creative side emerges as an ABNERIA cast member. A native of Missouri, Lucinda received a BA in Theatre Performance and moved to Washington D.C. where she became interested in public policy issues. Realizing that politics and acting were closely related, she earned a Master's degree in Public Administration. Now that Boston has become her adopted home, she continues to look for opportunities to bring her two worlds together. She is involved in all aspects of ABNERIA, especially acting and directing, and can operate a fog machine in her sleep.
Bethlyn Vergo, commonly known as "the Goddess" has been acting ever since she knew ya could. Her first starring role was as Dorothy in "The Wizard of OZ" at the age of 10. She continued to be deeply involved in theater (both musical and straight) throughout her college years at Tufts University. Presently she is forking over a lot of dough to Boston University, pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work and Public Heath, and doing her very best to juggle her demanding studies with the always overwhelming responsibilities of being an ABNERIA cast member. Though she hopes to change the world, she would be satisfied if one day we could all just get along.
Webb Wilcoxen is the founder of ABNERIA. A native of the New York City area, Webb studied film at the School of Visual Arts, working as a sound designer, film editor, and cinematographer. He was awarded SVA's Dusty Award for Best Sound for his work on the film "Life Before Me." Upon graduating, he moved to Boston and joined BTI. He was Co-Director of the acclaimed feature length documentary "A Time To Dance, The Life and Work of Norma Canner." He has written feature-length screenplays and worked as a sound designer for several stage productions in New York. In addition to writing a large percentage of Abneria's material, he is the Co-Executive Producer and Co-Technical Director of the show.
